Comments: I still have dreams about riding "The King of the Fleet". I guess that's because that's all we ever did. Get Underway! Except for having to paint the RAS deck every other month and shine brass and do sweepers twice a day, I had a pretty darn good time. I've kept in contact with Mark Donovan but have not heard from anyone else. If any of you guys I played poker with read this drop me a line (just don't ask for money!). Oh, before I forget, Iron Mike, I still like my t-shirt sleaves cut-off

Comments: I served with NR DDG KING 4113, the reserve unit dedicated to augment King on mobilization from 1984-1991, the last three years as CO of the reserve unit. For most of that time King was a great ship to work with, I deployed dets to her 3-5 times a year for most of that period. Two stand out in particular, my first ACDUTRA in '84 we picked her up in Rota on Thanksgivingand brought her back to Norfolk, allowing a batch of shipmates early bird leave from the deployment. The second was in 1990,
