Commander Clark graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1964. He has served at sea in USS RENSHAW (DD-499), USS HENRY W. TUCKER (DD-875), and as Executive Officer in USS BERKELEY (DDG-15).

Commander Clark's shore duty assignments include duty at the Naval Ordnance Systems Command Headquarters and the Research Development Test and Evaluation Directorate, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations.

He is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School where he earned a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering and the Command and Staff Course, U. s. Naval War College.

Commander Clark has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for service in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat “V” for duty in Southeast Asia.
