I looked through the 1972-73 Cruise book and could not STG3 Larry Van Horn. The king did not have another cruise book until 1979.

Are you sure that he was aboard DLG-10 and not aboard the USS John King (DDG-3)?  Huh Huh

While I was not a crew member of the USS King I did have a friend on board. STG3 Larry Van Horn, originally from San Antonio, TX.  He served on the King in late 1972 and for some time there after, how long I don't know.  He was aboard when the MOD Squad CO decided to dock the ship with out tugs and nearly ran down a nuclear sub. at Destroyer and Submarine Piers in Norfolk.  Any one that wants to hear the rest of the story, drop me a line. I served on the USS Conyngham(DDG-17) at about the same time. Anyone that knows the complete story is welcomed to drop me a line as well.
