This week's On The Waterfront column introduces many of you to the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER), a program administered by the National Park Service and maintained by the Library of Congress.  And to the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Hadlock  and their program to preserve the heritage of classic wooden boats.

For additional information on the HAER program the following link from a prior column discusses the program in a bit more depth.
