I went to my first ever Veterans Day Parade on November 11, 2006. It used to be called Armestist Day for the Treaty signed on this date that ended WWI. My sister was born on this date in 1944. I wore my original dog tags with my old Navy Service Number along with most of ribbions. I also wore my ball cap that read Navy Veteran. I didn't fair well at the parade because it brought back to many memories. This parade was held in Phoenix, AZ. There were almost 100 entries and the streets were lined the whole route. I don't know if I could handle the one next year. I am a 22 year Veteran with a tour on the rivers of South Vietnam. I try to remember the good times aboard the King, my first ship and the expieriences I had while aboard. To All the Kings Men a happy Veterans Day.

I would like to encourage all veterans to wear their dog tags on Veterans Day as a visual expression of honor, respect and support for all of our service men and women currently serving around the world.
